1. حيرتنا عجائب الآثار

    وتجلى ليل الدجى والنهار

    The wonders of the traces have bewildered us.

    And the night of darkness and the day became manifest.

  2. وأشارات دولة السر وال

    بأس الإلهي بصولة الإظهار

    And the signs of mystery’s dominion, and the

    divine might in the onslaught of manifestation;

  3. وشؤون الأيام والطي والنش

    ر ودور الإيراد والإصدار

    And the affairs of days, and folding and

    unfolding, and the cycle of bringing in and sending forth;

  4. والخفا والظهرو والغيب والطو

    ر الشهودي وجولة الأقدار

    And concealment and appearance, and the unseen and the

    mode of witnessing, and the sweep of destinies;

  5. والعمى اولعيان والوهم والفه

    م وتمزيق فرقة الأغيار

    And blindness and direct sight, and illusion and

    understanding, and the rending of the band of others:

  6. حكم عند نسجها الحيرة المح

    ض لكل الألباب والأفكار

    Wisdoms—at their weaving, bewilderment that is

    pure, for all minds and thoughts.

  7. حكم نظم درها بيد القد

    رة سار بخيط أمر الباري

    Wisdoms—the stringing of their pearls by the hand of

    power proceeded along the thread of the Maker’s command.

  8. حكم دونها انعقاد معاني

    همم العارفين والأحبار

    Wisdoms surpassing the gathered meanings

    of the aspirations of the knowers and learned men.

  9. حكم حام حول رحب حماها

    جحفل الأنباء والأنصار

    Wisdoms around whose spacious sanctuary circled

    a host of tidings and helpers.

  10. حكم ما لها انقضاء ولا دو

    ن مداها انتها وذا السر ساري

    Wisdoms that have no end, nor, short

    of their reach, a limit; and this mystery flows on.

  11. حكم قام أمرها مع السر ال

    أمر فالأمر مثلما هو جاري

    Wisdoms whose order arose with the secret

    command; so the command proceeds just as it is.

  12. حكم أفرغت بقالب وهب

    وعطاء للسيد المختار

    Wisdoms cast in a mold of bestowal

    and bounty for the chosen Master.

  13. فانجلى شأن عزها بيد الجو

    د ودارت على الكرام الكبار

    Thus their glorious standing was revealed by the hand of

    generosity, and they circulated among the noble and great.

  14. عرفوا اللضه بالنبي وفازوا

    ودروا فيه حكمة الجبار

    They knew God through the Prophet and attained success,

    And perceived in him the wisdom of the Compeller.

  15. وبه شاهدوا من الأثر ال

    محض الإلهي حقائق الأسرار

    And through him they beheld, in the trace—

    pure and divine—the realities of mysteries.

  16. فرأوا أنه مدار معالي

    جمع آثار قدرة القهار

    Thus they saw that he is the axis of the exalted glories

    of all the traces of the All-Subduer’s power.

  17. وهو عين العمى التي بعماها

    قابلتها الألطاف بالأبصار

    And he is the essence of blindness, which, in its blindness,

    the graces met with sight.

  18. فجلت غيهب العمى بجلال

    قد غشاه الجمال بالأنوار

    Thus they dispelled the gloom of blindness with a majesty

    that beauty had covered with lights.

  19. ودروا أنه حقيقة كل ال

    أمر عند الإظهار والإضمار

    And they knew that he is the reality of the entire

    matter, in manifestation and concealment.

  20. وهو باب الوصول للَه والجا

    ه العريض الحامي من الأكدار

    And he is the gate of access to God, and the

    vast eminence that shields against troubles.

  21. فلتعظيم قدرة قال كل

    حيرتنا عجائب الآثار

    So, in glorification of power, everyone said:

    The wonders of the traces have bewildered us.
