في كل شيء مراه

في كل شيء مراه

The secret of manifestation is His meaning;

The meaning of revelation is clear

in everything is His appearance.

In everything is its mirror

فاسقط شهود الأشيا

فاسقط شهود الأشيا

لا إله إلا اللَه

لا إله إلا اللَه

So relinquish the witnessing of things:

So remove the witnesses of things

There is no god but God.

None is God but Allah

The symbols of all things revolved

The symbols of all revolved

in the arena of descent;

In the field of evidence

وهيكل التجلي

شأن به سر اللَه

شأن به سر اللَه

and the temple of manifestation

And the temple of revelation

is a state wherein lies God's secret.

Has the secret of Allah

غابت معاني الجمع

غابت معاني الجمع

في أصلها والفرع

في أصلها والفرع

The meanings of union vanished

The meanings of the group were lost

in their root and branch;

In its origin and branch

واحتاط باس القطع

واحتاط باس القطع

بالغير سبحان الله

بالغير سبحان الله

and the force of severance closed in

And the harm of separation was avoided

on all else—glory be to God!

آثاره في الأمر

آثاره في الأمر

أبدت ظهرو السر

أبدت ظهرو السر

His traces in the affair

Its traces in the matter

revealed the secret's emergence;

Showed the secret

وعن مدار الفكر

وعن مدار الفكر

جلت نعم جل اللَه

جلت نعم جل اللَه

and beyond the orbit of thought

And from the orbit of thought

they were exalted—yes, exalted is God.

The blessings of the Majestic Allah were revealed

في نشأ لوح الخلق

في نشأ لوح الخلق

جمع بعين الفرق

جمع بعين الفرق

In the genesis of creation's tablet

In the panel of the creation of existence

is union in distinction itself;

It gathered the eye of separation

وتحت خدر الحق

وتحت خدر الحق

قل كل من عند اللَه

قل كل من عند اللَه

and beneath the veil of the Real,

And under the intoxication of truth

say: all is from God.

Say, all is from Allah

حق زواه الوهم

حق زواه الوهم

فما رواه الفهم

فما رواه الفهم

A truth that illusion hid away,

The illusion evaluated it

so understanding could not recount it;

What the mind perceived

وضل فيه العلم

وضل فيه العلم

وتلك آيات اللَه

وتلك آيات اللَه

and knowledge lost its way within it—

And knowledge went astray

and those are God's signs.

Such are the signs of Allah

فارجع عن الآلات

فارجع عن الآلات

في جملة الحالات

في جملة الحالات

So turn away from instruments

So turn back from mechanisms

in every state;

In all states

واشهد من الهالات

واشهد من الهالات

إذا تنجلي نور اللَه

إذا تنجلي نور اللَه

and behold, from the halos,

And witness from halos

as they shine forth, the light of God.

When the light of Allah reveals

واكشف رداء الغين

واكشف رداء الغين

عن وجه قلب العين

عن وجه قلب العين

And lift the cloak of clouding

And remove the cloak of illusion

from the face of the eye's heart;

From the face of the eye’s heart

وانظر مع الحالين

وانظر مع الحالين

أعلام أفعال اللَه

أعلام أفعال اللَه

and behold, in both states,

And look with the two states

the signs of God's acts.

The flags of Allah’s actions

واطلق زمام المحو

واطلق زمام المحو

واقبض عنان الصحو

واقبض عنان الصحو

And release the rein of effacement,

And release the bridle of annihilation

and grasp the bridle of sobriety;

And restrain the rein of sobriety

واصلح طريق النحو

واصلح طريق النحو

وانف السوى تلق اللَه

وانف السوى تلق اللَه

and set right the path of approach;

And rectify the way of syntax

and banish all else: you will meet God.

And aspire only to receive from Allah

واخلعك خلع النعل

واخلعك خلع النعل

واذبح بعير الفعل

واذبح بعير الفعل

And cast yourself off as one casts off a sandal;

And take off the slippers of deeds

and slaughter the camel of action;

And slaughter the camel of action

واقطع حبال الكل

واقطع حبال الكل

تصل إلى قرب اللَه

تصل إلى قرب اللَه

and sever the cords of all things;

And cut the ropes of all

you will attain nearness to God.

To reach the proximity of Allah

وغب بسكر الذات

وغب بسكر الذات

عن جملة اللذات

عن جملة اللذات

And lose yourself in the Essence's intoxication,

And become intoxicated from the ecstasy of essence

away from every pleasure;

From all pleasures

وافهم من الصفات

وافهم من الصفات

مضمون أسرار اللَه

مضمون أسرار اللَه

and understand, from the attributes,

And understand from the attributes

the substance of God's secrets.

The content of Allah’s secrets

فكل ما تلقاه

فكل ما تلقاه

إذ ينجلي معناه

إذ ينجلي معناه

For all that you encounter,

So everything you receive

when its meaning is unveiled,

When its meaning is revealed

شان لدى مجلاه

شان لدى مجلاه

وكشفه شان اللَه

وكشفه شان اللَه

is a state at its place of manifestation;

Is a sign in His presence

and its unveiling is God's affair.

And its disclosure is Allah’s sign

the sign of the Living One's affair:

Title of the matter of life
