Say to a shaykh who stubbornly harms the Prophet

in the persons of men from his House, people of spiritual state:

You claim the way of true men, yet harm the Hou—

se—and his House are the very eyes of true men.

You plunged through darkness in a wilderness without li—

ght, and were torn among the many forms of error.

You anger the Chosen One, yet seek the good pleasure

of God? Such is the shaykhcraft of fools.

You grew brazen and stormed the lion’s la—

ir, until you even trifled with the cubs.

Wait a little: God has hidden away a crushing defeat for you

for your persistence, O captive of illusion.

The Chosen One’s onslaught has seared you with a fire

kindled in the unseen by the vicissitudes of nights.

Go on—assail the Prophet’s House; your appointed meeting

is with God, and delusion’s sun is destined to set.

Poor wretch, you are now an old man,

and, as you are, helpless—a man of illusion.

Had you pondered what befell you, you would have desis—

ted and offered sincere repentance at once.

But the arrow from the hand of the unseen has made you bl—

eed; you writhe beneath its death-dealing wound.

You have gone too far in persisting, while the Hou—

se has horses in the arena of spiritual states.

Enough for you: falsehood, delusion, and the destruction of reli—

gion out of hatred; the Possessor of Majesty is enough for them.
