فراق الوالدين لذي كمال

فراق الوالدين لذي كمال

وعقل صائب فقد الصديق

وعقل صائب فقد الصديق

Parting from one's parents, for a person of virtue

Parting from parents, for one perfected,

and sound judgment, is the loss of a friend.

And sound of mind, is as losing a friend,

وفقد الأم أصعبه وهذا

وفقد الأم أصعبه وهذا

حقيقة أمره حر الحريق

حقيقة أمره حر الحريق

And losing one's mother is the hardest of it; this,

But losing one's mother is hardest of all,

in its true nature, is the burning heat of fire.

This indeed is a truth, sharp as fire's burn.
