My soul be a ransom for a visitor with sweet, dusky lips.
He visited me only to diagnose my ailment.
أهدىhe offered إليto me معwith العيادةthe visit to the sick ريقهhis saliva
أهدى إلي مع العيادة ريقه
فأعادso he restored باللطفthrough gentleness الخفيthe hidden شفائيmy recovery
فأعاد باللطف الخفي شفائي
As he visited me in sickness, he offered me his saliva;
So through hidden gentleness he restored my health.
عجباًhow wondrous! مرضتI fell ill لهfor him وفيهand in him نجوتI escaped منfrom
عجباً مرضت له وفيه نجوت من
مرضىmy illness فاضحىso he became علتيmy ailment ودوائيand my cure
مرضى فاضحى علتي ودوائي
How wondrous! I fell ill for him, and in him escaped from
my illness; thus he became my ailment and my cure.
