رسول الرضى أدرك عبيدك بالبشرى

تكرم تحنن جد تعطف أبا الزهرا

Messenger of divine favor, come to your humble servant with glad tidings.

Be gracious, be compassionate, give generously, show tenderness, O father of al-Zahra.

علمتك يا مولاي ذخري وناصري

وعوني في الدنيا وغوثي في الأخرى

I have known you, my master, as my treasure and defender,

And my help in this world and my succor in the next.

فلا تقطعن حبلي ولا تجعل الجفا

نصيبي وإن ضيقت رحب الفلا وزرا

So never sever my cord, nor make estrangement

My lot, even if through sin I have narrowed the wide wilderness.

لأني لاجٍ فيك واللَه شاهدي

وأنت الذي تعطي ولم ترهب الفقرا

For I take refuge in you, and God is my witness.

And you are the one who gives and has never feared poverty.

تفضل على كسرى بجبر وداوني

بنصر وبد عسرتي بالرضى يسرا

Graciously mend my brokenness, and heal me

With aid, and through your favor turn my hardship into ease.

تركت بني الدنيا وألقيت حاجتي

ببابك يا غوثاه يا صاحب الأسرار

I have left the sons of this world and laid my need

At your gate—O succor! O keeper of secrets.

بفضلك عند اللَه يا خير مرسل

أغثني وأكرمني بنفحتك الكبرى

By your merit before God, O best of messengers,

Rescue me, and honor me with your greatest breath of grace.

ولاحظ بعين الجود فقري وذلتي

وعجزي وضعفي ضقت من ذلتي صدرا

And look with generosity's eye upon my poverty and humiliation,

And my helplessness and weakness; my humiliation has constricted my breast.

فها أنت باب اللَه يا سيد الورى

ويا مرشد الأملاك والأنبيا طرا

For behold, you are God's gate, O master of creation,

And O guide of the angels and prophets, one and all.

تجاراً عدوي ثم جار وساءني

وافرط بالبيضا علواً وبالصفرا

My enemy grew bold, then wronged and distressed me,

And grew haughty beyond bounds through white silver and yellow gold.

وبالأهل والخلان والحزب مدلي

أكف الأذى سراً وخادعني جهرا

And through kin, friends, and faction he stretched toward me

Hands of harm in secret, and deceived me openly.

وأنت عياذي والنصير وموئلي

كفى بك يا سيف القضا في البلا ذخرا

And you are my refuge, my defender, and my haven.

You suffice as a treasure in affliction, O sword of divine decree.

بسيفك يا جد الحسين قطعت من

بسوء رماني واتخذتك لي نصرا

With your sword, O grandfather of al-Husayn, I cut down the one who

Hurled evil at me, and I took you as my aid.

عليك صلاة اللَه والآل كلهم

وأصحابك الأعلام والبضعة الزهرا

God's blessing be upon you and all your family,

And your illustrious Companions, and al-Zahra, a piece of your own flesh.
