بمقري الباز مولانا حمانا

سراج الدين من للقوم ساقي

In the Falcon’s host—our master, our refuge,

Siraj al-Din, who is cupbearer to the people—

ألوذ وألتجي بحماه جهرا

ليحمل حمالة شدت وثاقي

I seek refuge and openly take shelter in his sanctuary,

so that he may bear a burden that has tightened my bonds.

وإن بقيت على ظهري فعاري

على شيخ المشايخ بالعراق

And if it remains upon my back, then my shame

rests upon the sheikh of sheikhs in Iraq.
