1. غاب الغرام تمكني وثباتي

    وتزايدت من لوعتي وثباتي

    In passion's thicket lie my firm footing and steadfastness;

    and my leaps have multiplied with my burning anguish.

  2. يا من لكم في المنحنا من اضلعي

    وطن رحيب مخصب الساحات

    O you who have, within the curve of my ribs,

    a spacious homeland with fertile courtyards.

  3. بحياتكم ان قلت يمنعني الحيا

    فحياتكم أي والغرام حياتي

    If I say, 'By your lives,' modesty restrains me;

    for your lives—yes, by passion—are my life.

  4. جودوا علي بنظرة فوحقكم

    هي في حياتي بغيتي ومماتي

    Grant me a glance, for, by your honor,

    it is my desire in life and in death.

  5. يا آل طه يا مصابيح الهدى

    يا قبلتي يا سادة السادات

    O family of Taha, O lamps of guidance,

    O my qibla, O masters of masters.

  6. كم من عنايات اغثتم مظهري

    بظهورها وكشفتم كرباتي

    With how many gracious favors you succored my outward being,

    through their manifestation, and dispelled my afflictions!

  7. انتم شموس الله في ملكوته

    والملك اهل خوارق العادات

    You are God's suns in His unseen realm,

    and in the earthly realm, masters of wonders beyond the ordinary.

  8. لكم الايادي البيض والهمم التي

    قامت بسر النفي والاثبات

    Yours are the white hands of bounty and the resolves that

    arose through the mystery of negation and affirmation.

  9. لي منكم الغوث الرفاعي الذي

    خضعت لديه ايمة الحضرات

    Among you is my succorer, al-Rifa‘i, before whom

    the imams of the spiritual presences bowed.

  10. خلف الائمة من سلالة حيدر

    فلك الخوارق صاحب الايات

    Heir to the imams, of Haidar's lineage,

    sphere of wonders, possessor of signs,

  11. حامي الحمى رحب اليمين المرتجى

    ابد المدى لنوائب الاوقات

    guardian of the sanctuary, open-handed, looked to in hope,

    for all time, against the calamities of the ages.

  12. ولي الملاذ فتى المعامع شبله

    وادي الندا حسن ابو البركات

    And his lion-cub, the hero of battle's tumult, is my refuge:

    the valley of generosity, Hasan Abu al-Barakat.

  13. علم الولاية والسادة والنقى

    والجود والبرهان والنفحات

    The standard of sainthood, of the masters, and of purity,

    and of generosity, proof, and breaths of grace.

  14. كنز المفاخر في بني الصياديل

    اسد الكتائب وافر الغارات

    A treasure of glories among the sons of al-Sayyadil,

    lion of the battalions, whose raids are many.

  15. كم ليلة قطع الدجى متبتلا

    لله باكي العين ذا لهفات

    How many a night he spent the dark hours wholly devoted

    to God, weeping-eyed and full of ardent longing.

  16. ولكم اغاث بعون بارئه فتى

    قد غص بالاكدار والحسرات

    And how often, with his Creator's aid, he rescued a youth

    who had choked on troubles and grief.

  17. فحل هزبر سيد ذو همة

    علوية من اعظم الهمات

    A mighty champion, a lion, a master whose resolve is

    exalted, among the greatest of resolves.

  18. هو والاولى زهر العشبرة اهله

    آل الوصي ايمتي وحماتي

    He and his kin, the blossoms of the clan,

    the family of al-Wasi, are my imams and protectors.

  19. شيخ يريع الخصم في يوم الوغى

    ويخيف دهم الاسد باللحظات

    A shaykh who terrifies the foe on the day of battle,

    and frightens dark lions with his glances.

  20. لا غرو ان جهل الغبي مقامه

    فالعمى ظهر اليوم في ظلمات

    No wonder if the fool is ignorant of his standing,

    for blindness has appeared today amid darkness.

  21. انا عاجز عبد وآل المرتضى

    أهل القوى أسد الوغا ساداتي

    I am a helpless servant, and the family of al-Murtada—

    possessors of strength, lions of battle—are my masters.
