For my sin; and whoever calls upon You with exaltation is granted victory.

For my sin, and who calls upon You with glory and victory

اغثني بلطف من حنانك عاجل

اغثني بلطف من حنانك عاجل

به القلب يحيى والمعاند يقهر

به القلب يحيى والمعاند يقهر

Rescue me with swift kindness from Your compassion,

Help me with kindness from Your affection promptly

Through which the heart lives and the defiant one is subdued.

With it the heart comes alive and the obstinate is defeated

لتبدو شؤُن الغيب بالبر والرضا

لتبدو شؤُن الغيب بالبر والرضا

ويخذل باغ قام بالحقد يمكر

ويخذل باغ قام بالحقد يمكر

So the workings of the unseen may appear with goodness and favor,

So the affairs of the unseen may appear with righteousness and pleasure

And a transgressor who arose scheming in malice may be forsaken.

And the garden that stood with malice plotting is disappointed

ويأتي ذليلا خاضعا مثلما الذي

ويأتي ذليلا خاضعا مثلما الذي

حواليه اسد الغاب في البر تزأر

حواليه اسد الغاب في البر تزأر

And he comes abased and submissive, like one

And comes humiliated, submissive, just as the one

Around whom forest lions roar in the wilderness.

Around whom the lion of the wilderness roars

بآياتك الكبرى وكل حقيقة

بآياتك الكبرى وكل حقيقة

بدت للنبين الاعاظم تزهر

بدت للنبين الاعاظم تزهر

By Your greatest signs, and every truth

With Your great signs and every truth

That appeared to the greatest prophets, shining;

That appeared to the greatest prophets blossoming

بكل معاني السر في الارض والسما

بكل معاني السر في الارض والسما

وكل ولي سره لك يذكر

وكل ولي سره لك يذكر

By all the meanings of the secret in earth and heaven,

With all the meanings of mystery on earth and in the heavens

And every saint whose innermost self remembers You:

And every saint whose secret remembers You

تدارك بلطف واكشف الهم والعنا

فقلبي بهذا الهم مضنى مكدر

فقلبي بهذا الهم مضنى مكدر

Come to my aid with kindness, and dispel distress and suffering,

Save me with kindness and reveal the worries and troubles

For my heart is exhausted and troubled by this distress.

For my heart is weary and gloomy with these worries

دعوتك ارجو رحمة وعناية

وارقب سرا من طوى الغيب يظهر

وارقب سرا من طوى الغيب يظهر

I called upon You, hoping for mercy and care,

I called upon You hoping for mercy and care

And await a secret emerging from the folds of the unseen.

And secretly observe from the folds of the unseen to appear

فاغدو قرير العين من بعد لوعتي

فاغدو قرير العين من بعد لوعتي

وفجر عنائي بالمنى يتفجر

وفجر عنائي بالمنى يتفجر

So I may be at peace, my eyes at rest, after my anguish,

So I start the day joyful after my misery

And the dawn of my suffering bursts forth with hope.

And my troubles burst forth with what I wish would come true

لقد كبر الهم الذي مس مهجتي

لقد كبر الهم الذي مس مهجتي

بسقم ووردي فيه الله اكبر

بسقم ووردي فيه الله اكبر

Great indeed has grown the distress that touched my heart's core

The worry that touched my mind grew so big

With sickness; and my litany amid it is 'God is greater.'

With illness and in it God is the Greatest
