اراني اخاف الموت والحشر بعده

اراني اخاف الموت والحشر بعده

وشؤم ذنوب قل فيها تجلدي

وشؤم ذنوب قل فيها تجلدي

I see myself fearing death and the resurrection after it,

I find myself fearing death and the gathering for judgment after it,

And the baleful consequences of my sins—against them my fortitude is scant.

And the ill consequences of sins, in facing which my fortitude has waned.

وحسبي اذا ما حصحص الحق في غد

وحسبي اذا ما حصحص الحق في غد

شفاعة تاج المرسلين محمد

شفاعة تاج المرسلين محمد

Yet enough for me, when the truth stands fully revealed tomorrow,

And sufficient for me, when the truth becomes manifest tomorrow,

Is the intercession of Muhammad, crown of the messengers.
