أغث يا ختام المرسلين بإحسان

وعطف ولطف عبدك الضائع العاني

Give aid, O seal of the messengers, with kindness,

and compassion and gentleness, to your lost, suffering servant.

بسر معالي شان قدسك سيدي

وعصمتك العظمى ومجدك والشان

By the mystery of the heights of your sacred station, my master,

and your supreme infallibility, your glory and dignity,

تحنن برمش الطرف بالعطف والرضى

للاج قصير الباع حيرة الشاني

show tenderness with a blink of your eye, with compassion and favor,

to a suppliant of short reach, O bewilderment of the hater.

حبيبي يا عين الوجود قد التجا

ببابك عاص قائم بالهوى جاني

My beloved, O essence of existence, one has sought refuge

at your door—a sinner persisting in desire, an offender.

تداركه أدركه بعونك أنك ال

مغيث بإذن اللَه للأنس والجان

Rescue him; reach him with your aid, for you are the

giver of aid, by God's permission, to humankind and jinn.

ولاحظ سريعاً بالقبول وقل له

نجوت بفضل اللَه من هم أحزان

And swiftly regard him with acceptance, and say to him:

You have escaped, by God's grace, the anguish of sorrows.

تكرم أبا الزهر تفضل أعن وجد

على المتلجي المسكين يا شبل عدنان

Be generous, O Abu al-Zahr; be gracious, help, and give generously

to the poor seeker of refuge, O lion-cub of Adnan.

لمولاي يا مولى البرايا وعلة ال

وجود وباب الوصل للقاص والداني

To my master—O lord of creation and cause of

existence, and gate of union for the far and the near.

ويا دولة الرحمن في كل مظهر

ويا من أتى يهدي بآيات قرآن

And O sovereignty of the All-Merciful in every manifestation,

and O you who came guiding with verses of the Qur'an,

بجاهك عند اللَه يا سيدي أغث

بجبرة كسري واكفني هم خواني

by your standing with God, O my master, give aid

by mending my brokenness, and spare me the distress caused by my betrayers.

وانعم بوصل الحبل من بعد قطعتي

وذلي وعاملني بجود وإحسان

And grant the joining of the cord after my severance

and my humiliation; treat me with generosity and kindness.

فبابك باب اللَه والفضل واسع

فما أنا يا طه وما جرم عصياني

For your gate is God's gate, and grace is vast.

What, then, am I, O Taha, and what is the guilt of my disobedience?

لقد شمت الأعدا بما حرك القضا

عليَّ من البلوى وكدر خلاني

Indeed, the enemies have gloated at what fate has stirred

against me of affliction, and how it troubled my dear friends.

فلا نصرة بالمال حتى تشد لي

عصابة ظهري أو تشيد أركاني

So I have no aid through wealth to tighten for me

the band at my back or build up my pillars.

ولا عصبة من آل عمى قوية

أقول رجائي أو أعان بإخواني

Nor a strong band of kin from my paternal uncle's family

that I could call my hope, nor am I helped by my brothers.

ولا نسباً من صهر قوم ذوي غنى

أرى أهله فيما أعارك أعواني

Nor a family tie through marriage to people of wealth

whose people I could see as my helpers in what I grapple with.

ولا مخلصاً زين الصداقة صادقاً

صديقاً يعاني سقم كربي وأشجاني

Nor anyone devoted, an adornment to friendship, truthful,

a friend who bears the sickness of my anguish and sorrows.

ولا عدة إلاك يا خير من مشى

على الأرض يأمن من معاليك علواني

Nor any support but you, O best of those who walked

upon the earth; through your exalted ranks, my standing is secure.

تفضل بغوثي واكفني ما أهمني

وكن منجدي وارحم ضنى جسمي الفاني

Be gracious in aiding me, and spare me what has distressed me,

and be my rescuer; pity the wasting of my mortal body.

وخذ عرض حالي بالقبول وقلب ال

قلوب لنجوى بالرضى وأعل سلطاني

And accept the account of my condition, and turn the

hearts toward intimate prayer with favor, and exalt my authority.

وميل بجود منك من مال وأسرع ال

غياث وحقق فيك ظني وإيماني

And through your generosity, turn whoever turned away, and hasten the

aid, and confirm my trust and faith in you.

فأنت الذي أرجوه من بعد بارئي

وفضلك فضل اللَه والكل رباني

For you are the one I hope in after my Creator.

And your grace is God's grace, and all is from the Lord.

عليك صلاة الله والآل كلهم

وأصحابك الأعيان عون الفتى العاني

May God's blessing be upon you and all your family,

and your eminent companions, the aid of the suffering youth.
