خل السوى واقنع بوصل حماها

ما في الورى قسماً بها إلاها

Forsake all else, and be content with reaching her sanctuary.

There is none in creation but her—I swear by her.

وأنزل بوادي طور سينا قريها

وأشهد معاني نورها وضياها

And alight in the valley of Mount Sinai as her guest.

And witness the meanings of her light and radiance.

واخلع لها نعلي مرادك والهوى

واصبر لهجرتها تفز برضاها

And for her, remove the two sandals of your will and passion.

And endure her abandonment; you will win her favor.

واقطع حبال الغير أن جمالها

قد حرمته على محب سواها

And sever the bonds of all others, for her beauty

she has forbidden to any lover of another.

شغفت قلوب العاشقين بحسنها

وتسلطنت بجلالها وعلاها

She captivated lovers' hearts with her beauty.

And ruled as sovereign through her majesty and loftiness.

وتفردت بعلو عزة شانها

وتحجبت عن غيرها بخباها

And stood alone in the lofty glory of her station.

And veiled herself from all others in her pavilion.

ولقد تجلت وانجلت لرجالها

فشفت قلوباً جرحت بجفاها

And indeed she manifested and unveiled herself to her men.

Thus she healed hearts wounded by her coldness.

معروفةً بكمالها موصوفةً

بجمالها محجوبةً بسناها

Known by her perfection, described

by her beauty, veiled by her radiance;

مشهودةً بشؤنها مذكورةً

برموزها مشكورةً بثناها

witnessed in her workings, remembered

through her symbols, thanked with praise of her.

طويت برونقها المعاني كلها

فالكل إن حققته معناها

All meanings were enfolded in her splendor.

So everything, if you comprehend it truly, is her meaning.

ولها تضاءلت الفهوم ودونها ان

محت العلوم وقد علا مرقاها

And before her, understandings dwindle, and beneath her

the sciences are effaced, and lofty is her ascent.

سبحت سفينة سرها في بحرها

فعلى سواحل قدرها مرساها

The ship of her secret sailed in her sea.

So its anchorage lies on the shores of her stature.

وبكل زاويةٍ من البحر العظي

م جرت وأسعف بالسرى مجراها

And in every corner of the mighty sea

it sailed, and its course was aided by night travel.

نقش الزمان برمز طابع أمرها

فبدا بترجم للعقول حلاها

Time was inscribed with the symbol of the seal of her command;

then it began interpreting her adornments to the minds.

وسرى النسيم بلطفها فكأنه

ريح تنسم من نسيم صباها

And the breeze wafted with her gentleness, as though it were

a wind drawing its breath from her eastern breeze.

لاذت بطول رحاب حضرة قدسها

عشاقها وجلالها غشاها

In the vast courts of her holy presence took refuge

her lovers; and her majesty enveloped her.

فالباس معنى من جلالة باسها

وعلوها والكبرياء رداها

Thus might is a meaning drawn from the majesty of her might

and her loftiness; grandeur is her cloak.

عظمت بمئزر عزها فنفسها

عن نفسها مخفيةً بغطاها

She is exalted in the waistcloth of her might; thus her self

is hidden from herself beneath her covering.

كل الورى مرآة نشأة سرها

تبدي لأصحاب الشهود بهاها

All creation is a mirror of her secret's emergence,

revealing her splendor to those who witness.

جلت وجل جلالها وتعظمت

في عزها وتقدست أسماها

Exalted is she and exalted her majesty; she is magnified

in her might, and hallowed are her names.
