Alas, as though the sky slaps with its ten fingers
the celestial spheres on the tenth of Muharram,
حزناًin grief للحسينfor Husayn فالسحبso the clouds تبكيweep
حزناً للحسين فالسحب تبكي
بخشوعwith reverence أبكتmade weep بهthrough it الأملاكاthe angels
بخشوع أبكت به الأملاكا
in grief for Husayn; so the clouds weep
with reverence through which they have made the angels weep.
