And sweeter than the wafting fragrance of the east wind,

And more refreshing than the breeze of youth spreading,

And sweeter than union after rejection,

And sweeter than reunion after estrangement,

كعود الشباب ورشف الرضاب

وشم النحور ولثم الخدود

Like youth's return and sipping saliva,

Like the vigor of youth and gentleness of meadows,

And inhaling the scent of necks and kissing cheeks,

And perfume of flowers and kiss of cheeks,

وهصر الخصور ولمس العيون

وكسر الجفون وضم القدود
