بالفاظ غيري عندك غيرك درُسه

بالفاظ غيري عندك غيرك درُسه

And I congratulated him with a poetic inspiration that no one

And I congratulated him with a revelation of verse, whose recitation has not reached

but I uttered in words; in your presence, none but you has studied it.

Anyone other than you, in your presence, in words other than mine.

صحيفته قلبي إذا ما كتبته

وأقلامه الأفكار والطبع نفسه

وأقلامه الأفكار والطبع نفسه

Its page is my heart whenever I write it,

My heart is its page whenever I write it,

and its pens are thoughts and innate genius itself.

And its pens are thoughts and poetic instinct itself.
