به صيد وحور فيه عينُ

And graceful maidens entice me to recall the dwelling-place;

The recollection of the campsite entices me,

Proud beauties are there, and dark-eyed maids with large eyes.

With hunting and fair maidens in it a spring,

سللن من الحداق السود بيضاً

فما تدري قيان أم قيون

فما تدري قيان أم قيون

They unsheathed bright swords from their black pupils,

Ask the dark braids whether they are lively gazelles or tranquil lambs,

So you cannot tell: singing girls or smiths?

You wouldn't know if they're wild does or gentle ewes.
