Whoever has broken the spell over himself

and has experience of the world—

the treasure that lay hidden appears to him.

So let him thank God, who gave him insight.

You see him among people, beset by hardship,

and some of them may taunt him.

You would think them, when they meet him,

wild asses as they flee from the lion.

    أعْنى بهنَّ السبعة النَّيرهْ

    The beautiful one serves him—nay, all of them;

by them I mean the seven radiant ones.

The lock that was shut has been opened

by man, O friend—how powerful he is!

A lock of names, now unlocked

by the vicegerent of the Truth who devised it.
