وصرتُ مجموعْ

I attained my beloved, and my nearness grew great.

I attained my love and nearness was made easy,

And I became united.

And I became immersed.

منِّي عليَّا دارت كؤوسي

منِّي عليَّا دارت كؤوسي

من بعدِ موتي تراني حيّ

من بعدِ موتي تراني حيّ

From me to me, my cups went round.

The goblets circled from me to me,

After my death, you see me alive.

After my death you will see me alive.

ألاحْ لي ما غابَ عنِّي

ألاحْ لي ما غابَ عنِّي

وشملي مجموعْ ما يَفْترَاقْ

وشملي مجموعْ ما يَفْترَاقْ

What had been hidden from me shone forth to me.

Reveal to me what was hidden from me,

And my whole being is united, never to part.

And include me in the immersion of that which separates.

جميعُ العوالمْ رُفعتْ عنِّي

جميعُ العوالمْ رُفعتْ عنِّي

وضوء قلبي قد استفاقْ

وضوء قلبي قد استفاقْ

All the worlds were lifted away from me.

All worlds were lifted from me,

And the light of my heart has awakened.

And the purity of my heart awoke.

تراني غائبْ عن كل أينِ

تراني غائبْ عن كل أينِ

كاسُ المعاني حُلوُ المذاقْ

كاسُ المعاني حُلوُ المذاقْ

You see me absent from every place.

You see me absent from every where,

The cup of meanings is sweet to the taste.

The cup of meanings is sweet tasting.

وقد تجلى ما كانَ مخفي

وقد تجلى ما كانَ مخفي

كم بعدِ موتي تراني حيْ

كم بعدِ موتي تراني حيْ

And what was hidden has become manifest.

And what was hidden became revealed,

How often, after my death, you see me alive!

How after my death you see me alive.

رقتْ خمورْ صافي زلالِ

رقتْ خمورْ صافي زلالِ

وكلُ عاشقْ لديرنا

وكلُ عاشقْ لديرنا

The wines grew delicate, pure and limpid.

The wine of pure clear drink softened,

And every lover, to our monastery,

And every lover in our monastery,

يأتي مبادرْ بلا تواني

يأتي مبادرْ بلا تواني

ولَيْسَ ينظرْ لغيرنا

ولَيْسَ ينظرْ لغيرنا

Comes hastening, without delay.

Comes rushing without hesitation,

And looks to none but us.

And looks at none other than us.

يدنو ويفهمْ سرَّ المعاني

يدنو ويفهمْ سرَّ المعاني

يُسقى حياةٌ بعد الفنا

يُسقى حياةٌ بعد الفنا

Draws near and understands the secret of meanings.

He comes near and understands the secret of meanings,

Is given life to drink after annihilation.

He is given life after annihilation.

من لا تَرَبى كيف يُرَبي

من لا تَرَبى كيف يُرَبي

فليس تنفعْ منه بشيّ

فليس تنفعْ منه بشيّ

How can one who was not nurtured nurture others?

One who is not nourished, how can he nourish?

For you gain no benefit from him at all.

From him comes no good.

منيِّ عليَّا دارت كؤوسي

منيِّ عليَّا دارت كؤوسي

من بعدِ موتي تراني حيْ

من بعدِ موتي تراني حيْ

From me to me, my cups went round.

From me the goblets circled,

After my death, you see me alive.

After my death you see me alive.

رقت خمورٌ في الاصطباحْ

رقت خمورٌ في الاصطباحْ

وشمسي شرقتْ على الملاحْ

وشمسي شرقتْ على الملاحْ

The wines grew delicate during the morning drinking.

The wine softened in the morning,

And my sun rose over the fair ones.

And my sun rose over the sailors.

نمرح ونسقي لاهل الملاحْ

نمرح ونسقي لاهل الملاحْ

ولا نحب إِلا من أصاح

ولا نحب إِلا من أصاح

We revel and give drink to the company of the fair.

We frolic and serve the sailors,

And we love only one who has sobered.

And we love none but the ones who cried out.

ومن فهم معنى الاصطباحْ

ومن فهم معنى الاصطباحْ

يبقى مُنعمْ من شرِب الراحْ

يبقى مُنعمْ من شرِب الراحْ

And whoever has understood the meaning of morning drinking,

And who understood the meaning of morning,

Whoever has drunk the wine remains in bliss.

Remains blissful from drinking ease.

منِّي عليَّا دارت كؤوسي

منِّي عليَّا دارت كؤوسي

من بعدِ موت تراني حيّ

من بعدِ موت تراني حيّ

From me to me, my cups went round.

From me the goblets circled,

After death, you see me alive.

ما أنا غائبْ تراني حاضرْ

ما أنا غائبْ تراني حاضرْ

دائم منعم في سكرتي

دائم منعم في سكرتي

I am not absent; you see me present.

I am not absent, you see me present,

Ever blissful in my intoxication.

Eternally blissful in my intoxication.

وكأسُ وجدي عليَّا دائرْ

وكأسُ وجدي عليَّا دائرْ

مجموعْ مُمَكنْ في حضرتي

مجموعْ مُمَكنْ في حضرتي

And the cup of my ecstasy passes round to me.

And the cup of my ecstasy circles upon me,

United, firmly established in my presence.

United in my presence.

واشرب وقلبي نائرْ

واشرب وقلبي نائرْ

وطاب سُكْري في خلوتي

وطاب سُكْري في خلوتي

And I drink, and my heart is radiant.

Drink while my heart burns,

And my intoxication grew sweet in my seclusion.

And my intoxication is sweet in my solitude.

ومِنْ شهودي وجدت طِلبي

ومِنْ شهودي وجدت طِلبي

وفيه عِزِّي ثم غِنَيّْ

وفيه عِزِّي ثم غِنَيّْ

And through my witnessing I found what I sought.

And from my existence I found my request,

And in it lie my glory, then my riches.

In it is my pride and then my wealth.

منِّي عليَّا دارت كؤوسي

منِّي عليَّا دارت كؤوسي

من بعدِ موتي تراني حيّ

من بعدِ موتي تراني حيّ

From me to me, my cups went round.

From me the goblets circled,

After my death, you see me alive.

اخلعْ عنانكْ واسرع إِليَّا

اخلعْ عنانكْ واسرع إِليَّا

نسقيك رحيقَكْ صافي زلالْ

نسقيك رحيقَكْ صافي زلالْ

Cast off your reins and hasten to me.

Cast off your restraint and hurry to me,

We give you your nectar to drink, pure and limpid.

I will serve you the pure clear drink.

وولي ذاتكْ واقتلْ مَهِيا

وولي ذاتكْ واقتلْ مَهِيا

ترقى بساطْ بعدَ الزوالْ

ترقى بساطْ بعدَ الزوالْ

And turn your self away and slay its essence (reading uncertain).

Give over your self and kill your infatuation,

You ascend to a carpet after vanishing.

You will ascend after decline.

ثم تُحَيّا بأفضلْ تَحِيّا

ثم تُحَيّا بأفضلْ تَحِيّا

ثم ترحلْ بلا انتقال

ثم ترحلْ بلا انتقال

Then you are greeted with the finest greeting.

Then you will be revived in the best revival,

Then you journey without moving.

Then you will leave without moving.
