1. بَعْضي يا كلِّي إِسْمَع

    إِنَّ روُحي لِذَاتي

    Hear my part, O my whole.

    Indeed, my spirit belongs to my essence.

  2. ما لِي وهْمُ فيه نرتَعْ

    ولاَ طُورُ الصَّفاتِ

    I have no illusion in which to graze,

    nor the mount of attributes.

  3. فأنا لاَ نُخَيَّل

    ولاَ ننْظُر لِغيْرِي

    So I am not imagined,

    nor do I look toward anything other than myself.

  4. ثَمَّ سِرُّ لا يُمثَّل

    لاَ بَزِيد وعمْرِو

    There is a secret that cannot be represented,

    not by Zayd or Amr.

  5. نَفْنى في الذَّاتِ ونجْعل

    جَهْرِي في نُطْقِ سِري

    I vanish in the Essence and place

    my open speech within my secret's utterance.

  6. لَسْ ثَوْبيَ أوْسَعْ

    بَعْضَ كُلِّ الجِهَات

    My robe is not wider

    than a part of all the directions.

  7. سِرُّ وِ تْرِى قد أشْفَع

    في مَمَاتِي حيَاتي

    The secret of my singleness has doubled

    my life within my death.

  8. جَلَّ مَن ذاتُوا ذاتي

    مَن غَدا إِليَّا مَعْنَى

    Exalted is He whose essence is my essence,

    who has become meaning to me.

  9. وصِفَاتُوا صِفاتي

    عَزَّ مَن لم يُثَنَّى

    And His attributes are my attributes.

    Mighty is He who has not been made two,

  10. وحيَاتُوا حَياتي

    وبقَاؤُا لاَ يَفنَى

    and His life is my life,

    and His abiding never perishes.

  11. وَحْدَةُ الْحَقِّ تنْزِعْ

    ما رَوَاهُ رُوَاتي

    The oneness of the Real strips away

    what my narrators have related.

  12. هَذَا ما فِيهِ مَدْفع

    مِنِّي لِيَّا صَلاتِي

    This admits no rebuttal:

    my prayer is from me to me.

  13. لَس لِذاني حَدّ

    ولاَ لَيْهَا شَبيهَا

    My [essence] has no limit,

    nor does it have a likeness,

  14. ولاَ وجْد وفقَدُ

    ولاَ وقْتٌ وَجِيهَا

    nor finding nor loss,

    nor time nor direction.

  15. سِرّها هُوَ فرْدُ

    دُونْ صِفاتٍ حَلَّ فيها

    Its secret is one alone;

    without attributes, it has dwelt within it.

  16. الوُجُود لَيْها يرْكَع

    حيْثُ كانتْ صَلاَتي

    Existence bows to it,

    where my prayer was.

  17. وصلاتُ الْفرْقِ تجْمَع

    فذَّةً دونْ شتاتي

    And the prayer of separation gathers,

    singly, without my dispersion.

  18. رُوحُها سِرُّ حَزْمي

    دُونَ هَوَى أنا نهْوَى

    Its spirit is the secret of my resolve.

    Without desire, I love.

  19. هَ رُوحِي بعِلْمي

    لَس لاحد فيه سَلْوَى

    Behold my spirit through my knowledge;

    there is no solace in it for anyone.

  20. خُذ كلامي بِفهْمِي

    خَلّ قوْلاً هُ يُروَى

    Take my words with my understanding;

    leave aside a saying that is transmitted.

  21. لَس غيْرِي هُ يسْطع

    نحْو غادِي وآتي

    No one other than me shines

    toward those who go and come.

  22. شمسُ ذاتي ه تطلع

    تُحْي كُلَّ الرفاتِ

    The sun of my essence—it rises,

    reviving all the crumbled bones.

  23. جمْعُ فرْقي مَلاذَا

    ووبرُ وزِي بِملْكي

    The union of my separation is a refuge,

    and fur and clothing are in my possession.

  24. لا تقُلْ كيْفَ هذَا

    فهْوَ مرْبوطْ بشركِي

    Do not say, 'How is this?'

    For bound in my snare is

  25. كلَّ من هو حاذَا

    ذي عُلوم ونُسْكي

    everyone who has [kept pace]

    with one possessing knowledge and my devotion,

  26. أوْجانا فيه مشفع

    إِنَّ إِسمي يُواتي

    or has come to us as an accepted intercessor in it.

    Indeed, my name accords

  27. لِحْلاَ البر الارفع

    صَحَّ ذا بالثباتِ

    with the [sweetness] of the loftiest goodness.

    This is confirmed through steadfastness.
