كُلّ حَدْ لُو نصيب من الدُّنيا

كُلّ حَدْ لُو نصيب من الدُّنيا

وهَواكْ لِي نصيب

وهَواكْ لِي نصيب

Everyone has a share of the world,

Everyone has their share of life

And love of you is my share.

And you are my share

يا حَياتِي وأنْتَ في ذاتِي

يا حَياتِي وأنْتَ في ذاتِي

حاضِرٌ لا تَغِيب

حاضِرٌ لا تَغِيب

O my life, you are within my being,

O my life, while you are within me

Present, never absent.

Ever present, never absent

أنْتَ أسْكَرْتني على سُكْرِي

أنْتَ أسْكَرْتني على سُكْرِي

مِن لذيذِ الشَّراب

مِن لذيذِ الشَّراب

You made me drunker still

You intoxicated me with your sweet drink

From the delicious wine.

Then you spoke to me, as you know

ثُمَّ خاطَبْتَني كما تدْرِي

ثُمَّ خاطَبْتَني كما تدْرِي

ففهِمْتُ الْخِطاب

ففهِمْتُ الْخِطاب

Then you addressed me, as you know,

And I understood your words

So I understood the address.

Then I saw your radiant face

ثُمَّ شاهَدْتُ وجْهَكَ الْبَدرِي

ثُمَّ شاهَدْتُ وجْهَكَ الْبَدرِي

عِنْدَ رفْعِ الْحجَاب

عِنْدَ رفْعِ الْحجَاب

Then I beheld your face, like the full moon,

When the veil was lifted

At the lifting of the veil.

Then you made me guardian of myself

ثُمَّ صَيَّرْتَني رَقيب ذاتِي

ثُمَّ صَيَّرْتَني رَقيب ذاتِي

كُنْتَ أنْتَ الرَّقيب

كُنْتَ أنْتَ الرَّقيب

Then you made me a watcher over my own being;

It was you who were the guardian

You yourself were the Watcher.

O my life, while you are within me

يا حَياتِي وأنْتَ في ذاتِي

يا حَياتِي وأنْتَ في ذاتِي

حاضِرٌ لاَ تَغِيب

حاضِرٌ لاَ تَغِيب

O my life, you are within my being,

Ever present, never absent

Present, never absent.

Enter the tavern and witness the meaning

أُدْخُلِ الْحان وشاهِد الْمعْنَى

أُدْخُلِ الْحان وشاهِد الْمعْنَى

لِتنالَ الأمان

لِتنالَ الأمان

Enter the tavern and behold the meaning,

To attain safety

So that you may attain safety.

So you can see me in this world standing vigil

كَيْ تَرانِي بينَ الدّنانِ عاكِفا

كَيْ تَرانِي بينَ الدّنانِ عاكِفا

شاخِصاً للْدِيان

شاخِصاً للْدِيان

So you may see me abiding in devotion among the wine jars,

Keeping watch for the Eternal

Gazing intently toward the Judge.

And let the cupbearer give me my share of wine

وسقانِي ساقِي الْمُدام دَوْرِي

وسقانِي ساقِي الْمُدام دَوْرِي

قبْلَ دَور الزَّمان

قبْلَ دَور الزَّمان

And the cupbearer of wine served me my round,

Before the turn of time

Before the turn of time.

You know who our cupbearer is

أنْتَ تَدْري مَن كانَ ساقِينا

أنْتَ تَدْري مَن كانَ ساقِينا

الْقَريبُ الْمُجِيب

الْقَريبُ الْمُجِيب

You know who our cupbearer was:

The near one who answers

The Near One, the Answerer.

O my life, while you are within me

يا حَياتِي وأنْتَ في ذاتِي

يا حَياتِي وأنْتَ في ذاتِي

حاضِرٌ لاَ تَغيب

حاضِرٌ لاَ تَغيب

O my life, you are within my being,

Ever present, never absent

Present, never absent.

From the overflowing grace of my masters

أنا مِنْ فَيْض فضْلِ ساداتِي

أنا مِنْ فَيْض فضْلِ ساداتِي

نِلْتُ أعْلَى الرّتَب

نِلْتُ أعْلَى الرّتَب

I, through the overflowing grace of my masters,

I attained the highest ranks

Attained the highest ranks.

And as is the aspiration of the seeker

وعَلى قدْرِ همَّةِ الطَّالِب

وعَلى قدْرِ همَّةِ الطَّالِب

سيكُونُ الطَّلَب

سيكُونُ الطَّلَب

And in proportion to the seeker's aspiration,

So shall be what is sought

So shall the quest be.

Then I spent the rest of my time

ثُمَّ قَضَيْتُ ساير أوْقاتِي

ثُمَّ قَضَيْتُ ساير أوْقاتِي

بالْفرَحْ والطَّرَب

بالْفرَحْ والطَّرَب

Then I spent all my time

In joy and rapture

In joy and rapture.

And I heard the call from within me

وسَمِعْتُ الْخِطابَ مِنْ ذاتِي

وسَمِعْتُ الْخِطابَ مِنْ ذاتِي

مِنْ مكانٍ قريب

مِنْ مكانٍ قريب

And I heard the address from my own being,

From a place near

From a place nearby.

O my life, while you are within me

يا حَياتِي وأنْتَ في ذَاتِي

يا حَياتِي وأنْتَ في ذَاتِي

حاضِرٌ لاَ تَغِيب

حاضِرٌ لاَ تَغِيب

O my life, you are within my being,

Ever present, never absent

Present, never absent.
