فكانت لنا وردا إلى ضحوة الغد
And early one morning we drank a virgin wine among the roses;
It kept us fevered until midmorning the next day.
إذاwhenever قامstood up مبيضwhite اللباسof attire يديرهاhe passes it around
إذا قام مبيض اللباس يديرها
توهمتهyou imagined him يسعىبكمhe moves about with a sleeve موردrose-tinted
توهمته يسعىبكم مورد
Whenever one dressed in white rose to pass it round,
You fancied him moving about with a rose-tinted sleeve.
