إِذا أَرسَلتَ في أَمرٍ رَسولاً

إِذا أَرسَلتَ في أَمرٍ رَسولاً

فَأَفهِمهُ وَأَرسِلهُ أَديبا

فَأَفهِمهُ وَأَرسِلهُ أَديبا

When you send a messenger on a matter,

Then make him understand, and send him well-educated.

وَلا تَترُك وَصيَّتَهُ لِشَيءٍ

وَلا تَترُك وَصيَّتَهُ لِشَيءٍ

وَإِن هوَ كانَ ذا عَقلٍ أَريبا

وَإِن هوَ كانَ ذا عَقلٍ أَريبا

And never neglect to instruct him for any reason,

Even if he is intelligent and discerning.

وَإِن ضَيَّعتَ ذاكَ فَلا تَلُمهُ

وَإِن ضَيَّعتَ ذاكَ فَلا تَلُمهُ

عَلى أَن لَم يَكُن عَلِمَ الغيوبا

عَلى أَن لَم يَكُن عَلِمَ الغيوبا

And if you neglect that, do not blame him

For not having known the unseen.
