Wathaq wants my she-camel and finds fault with her
Wathaq son of Jabir deceives me about her
So I said, learn, O Wathaq, that she is forbidden
To you, throughout the overcast nights
You saw her tall, smooth-skinned like a sand dune
Among the battalion’s roving she-camels
Yet you tried to trick me while assumptions deceive
And how many desiring to trick me were unsuccessful
