If a man has no intellect, then he—
Without a mind one is worthless,
even if wealthy—is held in little regard by people.
Though he may have riches that make him fearless,
وَإِنand if كانَhe is ذاpossessed of عَقلٍintellect أُجِلَّhe is honored لِعَقلِهِfor his intellect
وَإِن كانَ ذا عَقلٍ أُجِلَّ لِعَقلِهِ

وَأَفضَلُ عَقلٍ عَقلُ مَن يَتَدَيَّنُ
And if he has intellect, he is honored for it;
But he with a mind is truly blessed,
and the finest intellect is that of one who practices his faith.
And the best mind is one seeking nearness to God.
