أَقولُI say وَزادَنيand it increased in me جَزَعاًanguish وَغيظاًand fury
أَزالَmay He end اللَهُGod مُلكَthe rule of بَنيthe sons of زيادِZiyad
I say—and it has increased my anguish and fury—
I say, and it adds to my agony and anger,
May God end the rule of the sons of Ziyad,
God has removed the rule of the sons of Ziyad,
وَأَبعَدَهُمand may He banish them بِماbecause غَدَرواthey acted treacherously وَخانواand they betrayed
كَماjust as بَعَدَتperished ثَمودُThamud وَقومُand the people of عادِ‘Ad
And banish them for their treachery and betrayal,
And banished them for their treachery and betrayal,
As Thamud and the people of ‘Ad perished.
As Thamud and the people of Aad were banished,
وَلاand may not رَجَعَتreturn رِكابُهُمُtheir riding camels إِلَيهِمto them
إِذاonce وَقَفَتthey halt إِلىuntil يَومِthe Day of التَنادِmutual calling
And may their riding camels not return to them,
And their mounts did not return to them,
Once they halt, until the Day of Mutual Calling.
When they stopped on the day of calling.
