أَخٌ لَكَ يُعطيكَ الجَزيلَ وَناصِرُ
He clothed me without my asking him for clothing, so I thanked him.
He hurt me, but I did not hurt him back. I praised him instead.
A brother to you, who gives you generously, and a supporter.
A brother to you, giving generously, helping others.
وَأَنَّand indeed أَحَقَّmost deserving الناسِof people إِنif كُنتَyou are حامِداًoffering thanks

And indeed, the person most deserving—if you offer thanks—
And indeed most deserving of your praise,
of your thanks is he who gave to you with your face unsullied.
If you praise, is one who gave to you, with ample grace.
