God has ordained that the Azd have their distinction,
God willed that only the Azd tribe deserved His grace,
and that they are the tent pegs of every land.
And that they were pegs in every land.

They sheltered Ziyad when he entrusted himself
They gave sanctuary to Ziyad when he surrendered himself to them,

And the decision was Ziyad's decision.

With spears like the poles of striped tents,

He has a pulpit he ascends every Friday,
His is a pulpit which he mounted every Friday,
and the apparatus of kingship: a police force and mustered men.
And the apparatus of authority, police and court ushers.
