وَلا تَنطُقي في سَورَتي حينَ أَغضَبُ
Accept what I can readily give, and you will preserve my affection.
Take from me forgiveness, and you will have lasting love,
And do not speak during my outburst when I grow angry.
Do not speak of my face when I'm angry,
فَإِنّيfor indeed I وَجَدتُI have found الحُبَّlove فيin الصَدرِthe breast وَالأَذىand hurt
فَإِنّي وَجَدتُ الحُبَّ في الصَدرِ وَالأَذى
إِذاif اِجتَمَعاthe two come together لَمnot يَلبثlinger الحُبُّlove يَذهَبُdeparts
إِذا اِجتَمَعا لَم يَلبث الحُبُّ يَذهَبُ
For I have found this about love and hurt within the breast:
Though I've felt love and pain together in my heart,
If they come together, love soon departs.
When they meet, love is quick to go.
