Were you to fall ill—may you be spared—I would visit you

in haste; why, then, do you not visit me when I am ill?

If you do not deem me worthy of a visit, then out of

your kindness, do me honor and visit me.

By your honor, I have neither fever nor illness,

but suffer from love concealed in the heart's very core.

If the least of it were in the lofty, firmly rooted mountains,

they would melt—what, then, of a person fashioned from clay?
