يَاOh لَيتَwould that أرْوَاحَنَاour souls الثَّلاثَthe three تَجمْthey might unite (first part)
مَعْنَthey might unite (continued) جَميعاًall together وضَمَّهَاand enfolded them جَسَدُa body
Oh, would that our three souls might come
together, all of them, and a single body enfold them,
كَمِثْلِjust like أهْوائِنَاour passions الثَّلاثَةِthe three قَدْhave (perfect marker)
أَلَّفَهَاhas united them لاتحَادِهَاbecause of their unity كَبِدُa liver
Just as our three passions have
been joined by one liver because of their unity,
أوْor مِثْلِlike أجسَامِنَاour bodies الثَّلاثَةِthe three إذْwhen
ضَمَّهاembraced them لائتلاَفِهاbecause of their harmony بَلَدُa town
Or like our three bodies, when
one town embraced them because of their harmony.
