يا خَيرَ مَنْ أنبَتَتْ جُرثُومةُ الكَرَمِ
May your Lord grant you joy in the blessings He has bestowed,
There your Lord has bestowed on you so many blessings,
O best of those the rootstock of nobility has brought forth.
O best of those whose mother bore a gracious son.
ونِلْتَand may you attain فيin ضِمنِthe midst of ماwhat وُلِّيتَyou were entrusted with منof نِعَمٍblessings
ونِلْتَ في ضِمنِ ما وُلِّيتَ من نِعَمٍ

يُمْناً ومأمَنةً من زَلَّةِ القَدَمِ
And may you gain, amid the blessings entrusted to you,
And you have obtained, in what you were granted, favors
Good fortune and safety from a slip of the foot.
That give tranquility and refuge from a faltering step.

Now Time, whose flank was rugged, has grown gentle,
Now is not the time, as the way is perilous
And smiled with parted lips and a cheerful face.
And the cheeks’ radiance has parted, revealing a smile,

أُمُّ الرَّجَاءِ وقَد مَرَّتْ علَى العُقُمِ
And now she bestows glad tidings upon her midwives—
And you have begun to bring tidings of good news,
The mother of hope, though she had endured barrenness.
Mother of hope, even after barrenness.

Never has the turning of the heavenly spheres produced a boon
The cycle of the stars has produced no benefit
Like this, nor has the decree of the Tablet and the Pen.
Like this, by the decree of the tablet and the pen.

The best of men—auspicious fortune has decreed for him
The best of men, the blessed ancients have decreed for him
That the choicest of women be led to him as a bride.
That the best of women be brought to him as a bride.

دُونِي فَهُمُ أغنِيَاءٌ عن مَقَالِ فَمِي
O son of those whose praise God has undertaken
O son of those whom God Himself praised—
In my stead; for they need no words from my mouth.
I cannot match them—they are too wealthy for my speech.

A people—when you recite their virtues, it is as though you
A people, when you recite their virtues,
Entice languid breezes with the blossoms of the hills.
You seem to scent the wafting fragrance of jasmine blossoms

And let your eye be gladdened and your soul be content, and sleep at ease;
Give comfort to the eye, joy to the soul, and gentle sleep
May those two accompany you, awake and in dreams.
Accompany you both wakeful and in dreams.
