They say the voice of the humiliated is faint,

And the ears of earth's tyrants are deaf, stone-deaf.

And in the cry of the subjugated people is a tempest,

Before it, lofty walls fall and are demolished.

And wrathful truth's ringing cry has an echo,

And the rumbling of ferocious war has a mouth.

When a people rally around truth, it

Cuts short the events of time and settles them.

Woe to you, O edifice of injustice, from tomorrow onward,

When the downtrodden rise and stand resolute,

When the enslaved shatter their chains,

And pour out the scalding water of wrath—when will you know?

Has it deceived you that the people close their eyes over grit,

And that the vast expanse is drowsy and dark?

Behold, the land's dreams lie buried,

Murmuring in its depths whatever they murmur.

But after hardship their resurrection will come,

And the day that sings will burst forth.

It is truth: it slumbers, then rises in anger,

Then demolishes what darkness has built and shatters it.

    سَتَعْلَمُ مَنْ مِنَّا سَيَجرُفُهُ الدَّمُ

    Tomorrow brings terror if the weak rise with their might;

You will know which of us the blood will sweep away,

    ومُزْدَرعُ الأَوجاعَ لا بدَّ يَنْدَمُ

    To where his hand reaps the seed of his yesterday;

And the sower of suffering must regret it.

You will gulp down life's afflictions and grow drunk,

Then you will listen to truth as it speaks,

When Time gives you a drink from its cup, whose

Dregs are bitter sap and colocynth.

When the tyrant is struck down beneath his chains,

He listens to life's sufferings and understands.
