Love is a flame of enchanting light that descended
Love is a magical light that descended
Love is a torch of enchanting light that descended
From heaven and became the radiance of daybreak.
From the sky, so it shone at dawn.
From the heavens, becoming the blinding break of dawn,
ومَزَّقتْand tore away عنfrom جفونِthe eyelids of الدَّهْرِtime أَغْشِيَةًveils

And tore veils from the eyelids of time,
It tore the veils from the eyelids of time
Tearing the shrouds from the eyelids of Eternity,
And from the faces of the nights the veil of dusk.
And the blankets of darkness from the faces of nights.
And the veil of dusk from the faces of the nights.

Love is a divine spirit; winged
Love is a divine spirit with wings
Love is a winged spirit of divinity,
Are its days with the radiance of dawn and twilight.
Its days are illuminated by the dawn and sunset.
Its days woven from the radiance of daybreak and twilight.

It roams through this world and makes it
It circles in this world and makes it
It wanders through this world, transforming it
A beautiful, laughing star, exceedingly radiant.
A beautiful, smiling, very twinkling star.
Into a beautiful, laughing star, fiercely bright.

Without it, no song would have been heard in the universe,
Without it, no song would have been heard in the universe
Were it not for love, no song would be heard in the cosmos,
Nor would the sons of one horizon have found fellowship in this world.
And no children of horizons would have harmonized in the world.
Nor would the children of the horizon find harmony in this world.

Love is a stream of wine, whoever tasted it
Love is a stream of wine; whoever tastes of it
Has waded into hell without fear of being burned.
Waded through hell and did not fear burning.
Plunges into hellfire yet fears not the burning.

Love is the ultimate hope of life, so I have no
Love is the ultimate goal of life's hopes, so I feel
Have I to fear if a grave enfolds me, and what to dread?
Fear when the grave takes me and I am no longer whole.
No fear when the grave embraces me, nor any dread.
