إِذا نادى أَبٌ يا اِبني
أُناديكِI call you (feminine) أَتاموريO my heart
أُناديكِ أَتاموري
Whenever a father calls, “O my son,”
When a father calls, 'O my son!'
When a father calls, "Oh my son!"
When a father calls out, "O my son,"
I call to you, “O core of my heart.”
I call you, 'O my heart!'
I call you, my date palm,
I call out to you, "O lifeblood of my heart!"
وَإِنand if أَطفاquenches الأَسىsorrow مطفٍan extinguisher
وَإِن أَطفا الأَسى مطفٍ
مِنَof الدَمعِtears أَتىcomes موريa kindler
مِنَ الدَمعِ أَتى موري
And if an extinguisher quenches sorrow,
And if sorrow is quenched by an extinguisher
And if a quencher quenches grief
And if a quencher extinguishes the sorrow,
from tears a kindler comes.
Made of tears, a kindler comes.
With tears, date syrup comes to me.
From the tears came my igniter.
