My son escaped the world and its engulfing perils.
My son escaped from this world and its sorrows,
My son has escaped the world and its overwhelming torrents,
And here I am among the drowning—so, O Lord, rescue me!
Yet here am I drowning, so save me, O Lord!
While here I remain among the drowning—O Lord, rescue me!

فَأَوحى إِلى جلّى رَزاياهُ أَن قَذي
I think my fate used to fear me because of my son;
I think my time was awed by my son,
I believe that Fate, for my son's sake, once stood in awe of me,
So it whispered to the gravest of its calamities: “Strike!”
So it secretly inspired the Majestic to take me away.
Then it signaled the gravest of its calamities to strike.
