لاnot أَشتَهيI desire الدُنياthe world وَلَوand even if أَنَّنيthat I
لا أَشتَهي الدُنيا وَلَو أَنَّني
مُتَوَّجٌcrowned أَملِكُI possess أَجوازَهاits realms
مُتَوَّجٌ أَملِكُ أَجوازَها
I do not desire the world, even if I
I do not desire the world, even if I were
Were crowned, possessing its realms.
Crowned, possessing its vast domains;
حَلَّsettled بِأَجفانِكَin your eyelids ماwhat راعَنيfrightened me
حَلَّ بِأَجفانِكَ ما راعَني
فَكَيفَso how أَستَحسِنُI find beautiful أَجوازَهاits realms
فَكَيفَ أَستَحسِنُ أَجوازَها
What frightened me has settled in your eyelids;
For in your eyelids dwells a power that strikes me with awe,
So how can I find its realms beautiful?
So how could I find beauty in its mere walnuts?
