يَشيadorns الأَرضَthe earth إِنif جادَهاit waters it abundantly
يَشي الأَرضَ إِن جادَها
He passed away; he had been the rain
He departed, and he was the life-giving rain,
that adorns the earth whenever it waters it.
That embroiders the earth when it pours generously upon it.
وَلَوand had عاشَhe lived ليfor me خُوِّلَتwould have been granted
وَلَو عاشَ لي خُوِّلَت
بِهِthrough him الخَيلُthe steeds إِنجادَهاaid for them
بِهِ الخَيلُ إِنجادَها
And had he lived for me, there would have been granted
And had he lived for me, the horses would have been granted,
through him, succor to the steeds.
Through him, their ascent to the heights.
يُؤَسِّسُhe lays the foundations of عَلياءَهُhis lofty renown
يُؤَسِّسُ عَلياءَهُ
عَلىon البِرِّgoodness إِنif شادَهاhe builds it
عَلى البِرِّ إِن شادَها
He lays the foundations of his lofty renown
He establishes his eminence,
on goodness whenever he builds it.
Upon righteousness whenever he raises it.

أُرَدِّدُI repeat إِنشادَهاtheir recitation
أُرَدِّدُ إِنشادَها
So elegies for him must suffice me;
So my share is but elegies for him,
I recite them over and over.
That I repeat in recitation.
