O gazelle, whose dwelling places within me are delicate—
O gentle gazelle, her dwellings have departed from me,
For among them are my heart, my pupils, and my liver.
So my heart and eyes and liver are lovesick for her.
حُبّيmy love لَكِfor you الناسُthe people طُرّاًall together يَشهَدونَbear witness بِهِto it
وَأَنتِand you شاهِدَةٌa witness إِنif يَثنِهِمdeters them حَسَدُenvy
All people bear witness to my love for you;
People exaggerate my love for you as gossip,
And you are a witness, should envy deter them.
While you remain a witness, if their envy speaks.
لَمdid not يَعزُبِbe absent الوَصلُunion فيماin what بَينَناbetween us أَبَداًever
لَوif كُنتِyou were واجِدَةًfeeling مِثلَthe like of الَّذيwhat أَجِدُI feel
Union would never have been absent between us,
Union between us has never been absent,
Had you felt the same as I feel.
If only you felt what I feel.
