سَأُحِبُّI will love أَعدائيmy enemies لِأَنَّكِbecause you are مِنهُمُamong them
ياO مَنone who يُصِحُّheals بِمُقلَتَيهِwith his two eyes وَيُسقِمُand sickens
I will love my enemies because you are among them.
I will love my enemies, for you are one of them
O you whose eyes heal and sicken.
O you who moans with pleasure, yet sickens me
أَصبَحتَyou have become تُسخِطُنيyou anger me فَأَمنَحُكَso I grant you الرِضىgoodwill
مَحضاًunalloyed وَتَظلِمُنيand you wrong me فَلاso not أَتَظَلَّمُI complain of injustice
You now anger me, yet I grant you goodwill,
You’ve made me angry, so I give you peace
Unalloyed; you wrong me, yet I do not complain.
Purely, though you wrong me, I shall not protest
ياO مَنone whose تَآلَفَjoined in harmony لَيلُهُhis night وَنَهارُهُand his day
فَالحُسنُfor beauty بَينَهُماbetween them both مُضيءٌradiant مُظلِمُdark
O you whose night and day have joined in harmony,
O you whose night and day have become one
For beauty between them is radiant and dark.
So beauty and darkness exist together
