بِزَوْرَةٍ لَمْ تُبْقِ مِنْ غَمْرَهْ
You honored one who found himself in distress,
You have honored one who was immersed
You brought honor to one who awoke in overwhelming distress,
with a visit that left no distress behind.
In darkness with a visit that left no trace of his darkness
With a visit that spared not a trace of affliction.

بَدْرُ الْمَعَالِي مُشْرِقُ الْغُرَّهْ
When you visited it in secret, it was indeed visited
The full moon of sublime qualities, the shining sun, visited him secretly
It was visited, when you visited it in secret,
by the full moon of noble virtues, radiant of brow.
O Abu Al-Abbas, O you through whom
By the full moon of eminence, radiant of countenance.

O Abu al-Abbas, O you through whom
The outcast knowledge seeker gains family
O Abu al-Abbas, O you through whom
learning’s stranger came to have a family,
May the Merciful spare you what you dislike
The isolated seeker of knowledge found his kindred.
جَنَّبَكَmay He spare you الرَّحْمَانُthe All-Merciful مَاwhat تَكْرَهْyou detest
جَنَّبَكَ الرَّحْمَانُ مَا تَكْرَهْ

may the All-Merciful spare you what you detest,
O obedient to the truth, O full moon
May the Merciful spare you from all that you abhor,
O you who heed rigorous inquiry, O its full moon!
O devoted servant of realization, O its full moon.
