مَضَوْا كَأَنْ لَمْ يَكُونُوا

مَضَوْا كَأَنْ لَمْ يَكُونُوا

وَمِثْلُهُمْ سَنَكُونُ

وَمِثْلُهُمْ سَنَكُونُ

They passed away as though they had never been.

They passed away as if they had never been,

And we shall be like them.

And just like them, we too shall be,

وَكُلُّ صَعْبٍ شَدِيدٍ

وَكُلُّ صَعْبٍ شَدِيدٍ

فَبِالْمُضَيِّ يَهُونُ

فَبِالْمُضَيِّ يَهُونُ

And every severe hardship

And every harsh and heavy burden,

Grows easier with the passing of time.

With the passing of time grows light.
