يَاO مَنْone who بِهِthrough him الحُسْنُbeauty مَخْتُومٌsealed وَمُبْتَدَأُand begun
The book of love for you begins with divine aid,
The book of love for you begins with success,
The collection of your love is begun with divine grace,
O you through whom beauty is sealed and begun.
O you in whom beauty is sealed and begun anew,
O you in whom all beauty is sealed and begun.
وَجُمْلَةُand the sentence of الْمَدْحِpraise لَمْdid not يُرْفَعْbe raised (made nominative) لَهَاfor it خَبَرٌa predicate
إِلَّاexcept وَأَنْتَand you رَسُولَMessenger of اللهِGod مُبْتَدَأُsubject of a sentence
And no predicate in the sentence of praise is raised,
And though many praises were raised up for you,
And the sentence of praise has no predicate raised for it,
Except with you, Messenger of God, as its subject.
None but “Messenger of God” was title enough,
Unless you, O Messenger of Allah, are its subject.
وَبِهُدَاكَand through your guidance جُِذَىembers الْأَفْهَامِminds مُوقَدَةٌkindled

And through your guidance, the embers of understanding are kindled,
With your guidance, minds were lit aflame,
And by your guidance, the embers of understanding are kindled,
O you through whom the Almighty's wrath is quenched.
O you by whom the fury of the Proud was doused,
O you by whom the wrath of the Almighty is extinguished.

The natures of thought's daughters grew tender and revived,
The emotions of thought's daughters were gentled and revived,
The natures of the daughters of thought grew tender and revived,
Since first milk from your glory's little breast gave them drink.
Since you suckled them from the teat of your glory's bounty,
Since the first milk from the breasts of your glory gave them drink.
وَمُنْذُand since حَلَّبْتُهَاI fed them milk بِدَرِّwith the flowing milk of مَدْحِكُمُpraise of you

And since I nursed them with the flowing milk of your praise,
And since I had them drink deep of your praise,
And since I milked them for the abundant flow of your praise,
Neither tarnish nor rust remained in the heart.
No rust or tarnish remains in the heart,
There remained in the heart neither tarnish nor rust.

May the God of the Throne bless you at every recitation of
God of the Throne sends blessings upon you, for as long

Your praises, and whenever tidings shine with mention of you,
As your praises are recited and your story spreads,
Your praises, and as long as tidings blossom with your remembrance;

And whenever a river flows and blossoms give off fragrance,
No stream ever flowed, no flower ever bloomed,
And as long as a river flows, and a flower exudes its fragrance,
And whenever pasture flourishes in spring from falling rain,
No meadow ever flourished and grew green,
And as long as pastures flourish from the downpour of rain;
وَمَاand whenever بَدَتْappeared حِكَْمَةٌwisdom وَمَاجَرَىand whenever it circulated مَثَلٌa proverb

And whenever wisdom appears and a proverb circulates,
No wisdom ever appeared, no parable was ever told,
And as long as wisdom appears, and a proverb circulates,
And whenever 'Kites!' is repeated alongside 'a pellet',
No partridge ever sang from the thicket loud,
And as long as kites repeatedly swoop at a pellet;

And whenever a moon grazes upon your lights,
No moon ever rose or shone from your lights,
And as long as a moon sits resplendent in your lights,
And whenever an assembly drinks its fill of your secrets,
No constellation ever unveiled from your mysteries,
And as long as an assembly is fully quenched by your secrets;

And upon your family and companions, then those who follow them—
And upon your Family, Companions and Successors—
And upon the family and companions, then those who follow them,
Those people, each adorned with fine character.
Each of them adorned with perfection and bounty.
Those are the people, each of whom is adorned by noble character.
