عَنْبَرُ الْخَالِ وَكَافُورُ الطُّلاَ

وَشَقِيقُ الْخَدِّ فَاقَ الْجُلَّنَارْ

وَشَقِيقُ الْخَدِّ فَاقَ الْجُلَّنَارْ

The beauty spot’s ambergris and the neck’s camphor

Ambergris of the cheeks and camphor of saliva

The ambergris of the beauty mark and the camphor of the neck,

And the cheek’s anemone surpassed the pomegranate blossom

Anemones of the cheeks surpassing carnelian

And the anemone of the cheek surpassed the pomegranate blossom,

وَرَحِيقُ الرِّيقِ فِي دُرِّ الَّلمَا

وَرَحِيقُ الرِّيقِ فِي دُرِّ الَّلمَا

وَدُجَى الأَصْدَاغِ شَبَّتْ جُلَّ نَارْ

وَدُجَى الأَصْدَاغِ شَبَّتْ جُلَّ نَارْ

And saliva’s nectar amid the pearls of dusky lips

And the sweetness of the spittle in a pearl of glitter

And the nectar of the mouth amidst the pearls of dark-hued lips,

And the darkness of the sidelocks kindled a rose of fire

The shadows of the temples igniting raging fires

And the darkness of the temple-locks ignited a great fire.
