طَلَعَتْ بِأَبْرَاجِ الدِّلاَءِ شُمُوسُ

طَلَعَتْ بِأَبْرَاجِ الدِّلاَءِ شُمُوسُ

فِيهَا لِأَرْكَانِ الْعَلاَءِ أُسُوسُ

فِيهَا لِأَرْكَانِ الْعَلاَءِ أُسُوسُ

Suns have risen in the towers of Dila;

The suns rose with the towers of glorious prominence

Suns have risen in the constellations of Aquarius,

within it are foundations for the pillars of eminence.

In which the pillars of sublime ascendancy anchor

within which are foundations for the pillars of greatness.

بِمُحَمَّدٍ نَالَتْ سَناً إِذْ نُورُهُ الْ

بِمُحَمَّدٍ نَالَتْ سَناً إِذْ نُورُهُ الْ

أَسْمَى لِشَرْيَانِ السَّنَا كَيْمُوسُ

أَسْمَى لِشَرْيَانِ السَّنَا كَيْمُوسُ

Through Muhammad it gained radiance, for his light—the

With Muhammad, it attained delight when his light

By Muhammad it attained brilliance, since his light—the

most exalted—is chyme for the artery of radiance.

Became the highest for the lifeline of glory like Canopus

most exalted—is chyme to the artery of brilliance.

بِمُحَمَّدٍ نَالَتْ عُلاً وَمُحَمَّدٌ

بِمُحَمَّدٍ نَالَتْ عُلاً وَمُحَمَّدٌ

آثَارُه ُلِمِعَى الْعُلاَ كَيْلُوسُ

آثَارُه ُلِمِعَى الْعُلاَ كَيْلُوسُ

Through Muhammad it gained eminence, and Muhammad—

With Muhammad, it attained sublimity and Muhammad

By Muhammad it attained eminence, and Muhammad—

his deeds are chyle for the intestine of eminence.

His traces illuminate the zenith like Sirius

his traces are chyle to the intestine of eminence.

بِمُحَمَّدٍ نَالَتْ غِنًى وَمُحَمَّدٌ

بِمُحَمَّدٍ نَالَتْ غِنًى وَمُحَمَّدٌ

بِنَدَاهُ بُسْتَانُ الْغِنَى مَغْرُوسُ

بِنَدَاهُ بُسْتَانُ الْغِنَى مَغْرُوسُ

Through Muhammad it gained wealth, and Muhammad—

With Muhammad, it attained wealth and Muhammad

By Muhammad it attained wealth, and Muhammad—

by his bounty the garden of wealth is planted.

With his liberality, the garden of wealth is planted

by his generosity, the garden of wealth is planted.

بِمُحَمَّدٍ نَالَتْ مُنًى وَمُحَمَّدٌ

بِمُحَمَّدٍ نَالَتْ مُنًى وَمُحَمَّدٌ

بِلُهَاهُ شُرَّادُ الْمُنَى مَحْبُوسُ

بِلُهَاهُ شُرَّادُ الْمُنَى مَحْبُوسُ

Through Muhammad it attained its wishes, and Muhammad—

With Muhammad, it attained wishes and Muhammad

By Muhammad it attained desires, and Muhammad—

by his gifts, fugitive wishes are held captive.

With his splendor, the purveyors of wishes are confined

by his bounty, fleeting desires are confined.

بِمُحَمَّدٍ جَلَّتْ لِأَنَّ مُحَمَّداً

بِمُحَمَّدٍ جَلَّتْ لِأَنَّ مُحَمَّداً

تَعْنُو لِعَرْشِ جَلاَلِهِ بَلْقِيسُ

تَعْنُو لِعَرْشِ جَلاَلِهِ بَلْقِيسُ

Through Muhammad it grew exalted, for Muhammad—

With Muhammad, it excelled for Muhammad

By Muhammad it became majestic, because Muhammad—

Bilqis bows before the throne of his majesty.

Yearns to the throne of His Majesty like Bilqis

to the throne of his majesty, Bilqis submits.

بِمُحَمَّدٍ جَمُلَتْ لِأَنَّ مُحَمَّداً

بِمُحَمَّدٍ جَمُلَتْ لِأَنَّ مُحَمَّداً

تَصْبُو إِذَا يَبْدُو نُهىً وَنُفُوسُ

تَصْبُو إِذَا يَبْدُو نُهىً وَنُفُوسُ

Through Muhammad it grew beautiful, for Muhammad—

With Muhammad, it was beautiful for Muhammad

By Muhammad it became beautiful, because Muhammad—

minds and souls yearn whenever he appears.

Inclines when he appears with splendor and spirituality

minds and souls yearn whenever he appears.

بِمُحَمَّدٍ شَرُفَتْ لِأَنَّ مُحَمَّداً

بِمُحَمَّدٍ شَرُفَتْ لِأَنَّ مُحَمَّداً

شَرَفٌ لَهُ بَيْنَ الْوَرَى قُدْمُوسُ

شَرَفٌ لَهُ بَيْنَ الْوَرَى قُدْمُوسُ

Through Muhammad it became noble, for Muhammad—

With Muhammad, it was ennobled for Muhammad

By Muhammad it became honored, because Muhammad

his honor among humankind is ancient.

Is nobility among mankind with prestige

holds an ancient honor among humanity.

بِمُحَمَّدٍ نَالَتْ سُعُوداً بَعْدَمَا

بِمُحَمَّدٍ نَالَتْ سُعُوداً بَعْدَمَا

أَخْنَتْ عَلَيْهَا بِالْخُمُولِ نُحُوسُ

أَخْنَتْ عَلَيْهَا بِالْخُمُولِ نُحُوسُ

Through Muhammad it gained good fortune, after

With Muhammad, it attained happiness after

By Muhammad it attained good fortune after

ill fortunes had overwhelmed it with obscurity.

Languor had deceived it with gloom

misfortunes had ruined it with obscurity.

بِمُحَمَّدٍ قَدْ سُرَّ وَجْهُ كَمَالِهَا

بِمُحَمَّدٍ قَدْ سُرَّ وَجْهُ كَمَالِهَا

وَلَقَدْ خَلاَ الأَزْمَانُ وَهْوَ عَبُوسُ

وَلَقَدْ خَلاَ الأَزْمَانُ وَهْوَ عَبُوسُ

Through Muhammad the face of its perfection was gladdened;

With Muhammad, the face of its perfection certainly delighted

By Muhammad the face of its perfection was gladdened,

and indeed, ages had passed while it frowned.

And time had passed with sullenness

while throughout past eras it had been frowning.

بِمُحَمَّدٍ فَرْعُ الْهُمَامِ مَلِيكِنَا

بِمُحَمَّدٍ فَرْعُ الْهُمَامِ مَلِيكِنَا

شَمْسِ الْهُدَى حَيِيَ الْحَيَا الْمَرْمُوسِ

شَمْسِ الْهُدَى حَيِيَ الْحَيَا الْمَرْمُوسِ

Through Muhammad, scion of our valiant king,

With Muhammad, the scion of our august king

By Muhammad, the scion of our heroic king,

the sun of guidance, the buried rain came back to life.

The sun of guidance revived the trampled life

the sun of guidance, the buried rain was revived.

بِمُحَمَّدٍ لِلَّهِ دَرُّ مُحَمَّدٍ

بِمُحَمَّدٍ لِلَّهِ دَرُّ مُحَمَّدٍ

قَدْ نُوِّرَ الإِقْرَاءُ وَالتَّدْرِيسُ

قَدْ نُوِّرَ الإِقْرَاءُ وَالتَّدْرِيسُ

Through Muhammad—how admirable is Muhammad!—

With Muhammad, for God the pearl of Muhammad

By Muhammad—to God belongs the excellence of Muhammad!—

recitation instruction and teaching have indeed been illumined.

The recitations and teachings are illuminated

recitation and teaching have been illuminated.

زًفَّتْ لَهُ بِكْرُ الْمَحَامِدِ مِثْلَمَا

زًفَّتْ لَهُ بِكْرُ الْمَحَامِدِ مِثْلَمَا

زُفَّتْ لِعَاشِقِهَا الْعَهِيدِ عَرُوسُ

زُفَّتْ لِعَاشِقِهَا الْعَهِيدِ عَرُوسُ

The virgin of praises was led to him, just as

The prime of praises hastened to him as

The virgin of praises was paraded to him, just as

a bride is led to her longtime lover.

The bride hastened to her beloved groom

a bride is paraded to her long-standing lover.

وَلَقَدْ أَقُولُ وَفيِ الحَشَاجَمْرُ الْغَضَا

وَلَقَدْ أَقُولُ وَفيِ الحَشَاجَمْرُ الْغَضَا

مِنْ بَيْنِهِ وَهْوَ الْعَمَى وَالْبُوسُ

مِنْ بَيْنِهِ وَهْوَ الْعَمَى وَالْبُوسُ

And indeed I say, with ghada embers in my breast,

And I say, and the ignorant foolish one is blind

And I say, while in my heart are the burning coals of al-Ghadha wood,

from parting with him, which is blindness and misery:

Among them, with blindness and kissing

from his separation, which is blindness and misery:

مَوْلاَيَ كَوْنُكَ فيِ الْفُؤَاد ِ مُصَحِّحاً

مَوْلاَيَ كَوْنُكَ فيِ الْفُؤَاد ِ مُصَحِّحاً

مَا قَالَهُ فِي الرُّوحِ جَالَيْنُوسُ

مَا قَالَهُ فِي الرُّوحِ جَالَيْنُوسُ

My lord, your presence in the heart confirms

My Master, your presence corrects in my heart

My lord, your existence within the heart verifies

what Galen said about the spirit.

What Galen said in the soul

what Galen has said concerning the spirit;

إِذْ أَنْتَ رُوحِي وَالْفُؤَادُ مَحَلُّكُمْ

إِذْ أَنْتَ رُوحِي وَالْفُؤَادُ مَحَلُّكُمْ

هَذَا قِيَاسٌ قَاطِعٌ مَحْسُوسُ

هَذَا قِيَاسٌ قَاطِعٌ مَحْسُوسُ

For you are my spirit, and the heart is your dwelling;

Since you are my soul and my heart is your abode

For you are my spirit, and the heart is your dwelling place;

this is a conclusive, perceptible syllogism.

This is a tangible analogy

this is a definitive, tangible deduction.

فَعَلَيْكَ مِثْلُ شَذَى حُلاَكَ تَحِيَّةٌ

فَعَلَيْكَ مِثْلُ شَذَى حُلاَكَ تَحِيَّةٌ

نَفَحَاتُهَا التَّمْجِيدُ وَالتَّقْدِيسُ

نَفَحَاتُهَا التَّمْجِيدُ وَالتَّقْدِيسُ

So upon you be a greeting like the fragrance of your adornments,

Upon you like the fragrance of your presence, greetings

So upon you is a greeting like the fragrance of your sweet traits,

whose wafts are glorification and sanctification.

Whose exhalations are glorification and sanctification

whose breezes are glorification and sanctification.
