وَوَصْفِيَ قَدْ تَضِيقُ بِهِ الطُّرُوسُ
My beauty surpasses what souls desire.
My beauty is beyond what souls desire
My beauty surpasses what souls desire,
And pages may be too narrow to contain my description.
And my description is too narrow for elegance
And parchments may be too narrow for my description.

The radiance of good fortune shines in houses
The light of happiness radiates in homes
The light of good fortune radiates in houses
Where suns arise from the beauty of my small windows.
In them, from the beauty of my cheeks, are suns
Within which are suns from the beauty of my portals.

إذَا دَارٌ كَسَوْتُ لَهَا جِدَاراً

تَطَايَرَ مِنْ مَبَانِيهَا النُّحُوسُ
Whenever I clothe a house's wall,
If I built a wall for a house
Whenever I clothe a wall for a house,
Misfortunes fly away from its buildings,
Evil would fly from its buildings
Ill omens scatter away from its structures,
وَتَبْتَسِمُand smiles السُّعُودُgood fortunes لِسَاكِنَيهَاupon its two inhabitants
وَتَبْتَسِمُ السُّعُودُ لِسَاكِنَيهَا

كَمَا ابْتَسَمَتْ لِمَنْ تَهْوَى عَرُوسُ
And good fortune smiles upon its two inhabitants,
And good fortune smiles on its inhabitants
And good fortunes smile upon its dwellers,
As a bride smiles upon the one she loves.
As a bride smiles for whom she loves
Just as a bride smiles at the one she loves.
