Happiness and joy are rightfully due

    Throughout the ages,

For the birth celebration of the Chosen One,

The Elect, the full moon of full moons,

    بِالنُّورِ وَالأَسْرَارْ

    Healer of hearts,

    With light and mysteries;

And for his son, the sea of seas,

    The pearl adorning necks,

Who casts the wicked into the dust,

Who, on the day of combat, truly resembled

    Amid the spears,

A lion of al-Shara in the thicket:

The fount of right guidance and righteousness,

    The pole of prosperity,

    My lord Isma'il,

    The sun of all kings,

    For he has no peer,

    The centerpiece of the necklace.

Were it not for the Commander of the Faithful,

    A manifest light

    Near and far,

    All the Muslims would resemble

    Throughout the worlds,

    A hand without a forearm.

For he is the emblem of success,

    A sea of generosity,

    Overflowing as the Nile overflows:

The fount of right guidance and righteousness,

    The pole of prosperity,

    My lord Isma'il.

The celebration of the Messenger's birth has come to you,

O son of the Chaste One,

    So hunt joys with it,

    In your palace, which awes

    Every mind

    With its radiant beauty.

So don, through it, the mantle of acceptance,

O all that one could desire,

    O mercy of the Opener!

For if the bird of morning were granted

    Speech, it would cry out

    In the finest measured chant:

The fount of right guidance and righteousness,

    The pole of prosperity,

    My lord Isma'il.
