أَلاَ عُذْ بِالضَّرِيحِ التَّاوُدِيِّ

أَلاَ عُذْ بِالضَّرِيحِ التَّاوُدِيِّ

وَمَا قَدْ ضَمَّ مِنْ ذَاكَ الْوَلِيِّ

وَمَا قَدْ ضَمَّ مِنْ ذَاكَ الْوَلِيِّ

Lo, seek refuge in al-Tawudi's tomb,

Come, seek refuge at the tomb of al-Tawudi,

and in that saint whom it holds within.

And what it holds of that holy saint,

وَقُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْمَوْلَى الْمُرَجَّى

وَقُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْمَوْلَى الْمُرَجَّى

تَوَسَّلِ لِي إِلَى الْمَوْلَى الْعَلِيِّ

تَوَسَّلِ لِي إِلَى الْمَوْلَى الْعَلِيِّ

And say: O master in whom hope is placed,

And say: O master in whom hope is placed,

intercede for me with the Lord Most High.

Intercede for me before the Exalted Lord.

لَقَدْ أَبْعَدْتُ حَقَّ اللهِ جُهْدِي

لَقَدْ أَبْعَدْتُ حَقَّ اللهِ جُهْدِي

فَأَبْعَدَنِي عَنِ النَّهْجِ السَّوِيِّ

فَأَبْعَدَنِي عَنِ النَّهْجِ السَّوِيِّ

I have indeed cast aside God's due with all my might,

I have shunned the right of Allah with all my might,

so He has cast me far from the upright path.

So it has distanced me from the righteous path.

تَوَسَّلْ لِي لِخَلاَّقِ الْبَرَايَا

تَوَسَّلْ لِي لِخَلاَّقِ الْبَرَايَا

بِحَقِّ الْمُصْطَفَى أَزْكَى نَبِيِّ

بِحَقِّ الْمُصْطَفَى أَزْكَى نَبِيِّ

Intercede for me with the Creator of all creatures,

Plead for me to the Creator of all beings,

by the merit of the Chosen One, the purest prophet.

By the right of the Chosen One, the purest Prophet.

صَلاَةُ اللهِ تَشْمَلُهُ وَآلاً

صَلاَةُ اللهِ تَشْمَلُهُ وَآلاً

لَهُ وَالصَّحْبَ فَضْلاً عَنْ عَلِيِّ

لَهُ وَالصَّحْبَ فَضْلاً عَنْ عَلِيِّ

May God's blessing embrace him and his family,

May the blessings of Allah encompass him and the kin

and the Companions, not to mention Ali.
