لا ترى نرجساً يُشبّه بالور

لا ترى نرجساً يُشبّه بالور

د إذا ما أدرتَ فكراً ولحظا

د إذا ما أدرتَ فكراً ولحظا

You see no narcissus likened to the rose,

You will not see a narcissus that resembles a rose

when you bring thought and sight to bear;

When you revolve a thought and a glance

ومن الورد ما يُشَبَّه بالنر

ومن الورد ما يُشَبَّه بالنر

جس علماً بأن في ذاك حظا

جس علماً بأن في ذاك حظا

and among roses are those likened to the narcissus,

And of the rose there is what resembles the narcissus

knowing that there is an advantage in that.

Knowing that in that there is a share
