أرْواحُ فيك سُعوطٌ لا يقامُ له

والوجهُ منكَ ذَرُورٌ فه إمْضاضُ

The odors of your mouth are snuff no one can withstand.

Souls in you are unrestrained debauchery,

And your face is a dusting powder that stings.

And your face is a radiance that glows.

في قفدِ رأسكَ تنجيشٌ لقافدِهِ

في قفدِ رأسكَ تنجيشٌ لقافدِهِ

وفي التَغافل منا عنكَ إرماضُ

وفي التَغافل منا عنكَ إرماضُ

Slapping the back of your head spurs the slapper on.

In the nape of your neck is a stirring for its chain,

And our pretending not to notice you brings burning vexation.

And in our neglect of you, a wink.

وما ذكرناك إلا كان مُتَّصلاً

وما ذكرناك إلا كان مُتَّصلاً

ببظر أُمكَ إمصاصٌ وإعضاضُ

ببظر أُمكَ إمصاصٌ وإعضاضُ

Whenever we mention you, the mention is always accompanied

Whenever we mentioned you, it was contiguous

By commands to suck and bite your mother's clitoris.

To the vulva of your mother—a suck and a nip.

وما تكلّمتَ إلا قُلتَ فاحشةً

وما تكلّمتَ إلا قُلتَ فاحشةً

كأن فكَّيكَ للأعراض مقراض

كأن فكَّيكَ للأعراض مقراض

And you never speak without uttering an obscenity,

You never talked but spoke profanity,

As though your jaws were shears for reputations.

As if your mouth to honors was a shredder.

مهما نطقتَ فنبلٌ منك مُرسَلةٌ

مهما نطقتَ فنبلٌ منك مُرسَلةٌ

وفُوكَ قَوْسُكَ والأعراضُ أغراض

وفُوكَ قَوْسُكَ والأعراضُ أغراض

Whenever you speak, arrows are loosed from you;

However much you utter, blades from you are launched,

And your mouth is your bow, and reputations are its targets.

Your bow is your mouth, and honors are the targets.

إن مُتَّ عاش من الأعراض ميِّتُها

إن مُتَّ عاش من الأعراض ميِّتُها

وإن بقيت فما للناس أعراض

وإن بقيت فما للناس أعراض

If you die, dead reputations will come to life;

If the honored dies, so dies its honor,

And if you live on, people will have no reputations left.

And if it remains, then no honor remains for people.

يغيبُ وجهُكَ فالأمراضُ غائبة

يغيبُ وجهُكَ فالأمراضُ غائبة

وبالقلوب إذا شوهِدْتَ أمراض

وبالقلوب إذا شوهِدْتَ أمراض

When your face is absent, diseases are absent;

Your face disappears, and diseases disappear,

And when you are seen, there are diseases in hearts.

And when you're seen, diseases strike hearts.

وما تُفيضُ بعلمٍ لا ولا صفدٍ

وما تُفيضُ بعلمٍ لا ولا صفدٍ

وأنت بالسلح قبل السُّكرِ فياض

وأنت بالسلح قبل السُّكرِ فياض

You overflow with neither knowledge—no—nor largesse,

You overflow not with knowledge or training,

Yet you overflow with shit even before you are drunk.

Yet you are armed, drunk before you are sober.
