Surely a man who forsook earning a living and took to

Studying the literary arts until he mastered them,

Then clothed and adorned every splendid, noble man

With the finest of what the mind wove and composed,

    Preoccupied, neglecting what others pursued,

Until, indeed, the base grew wealthy while he became destitute,

Trusting the most generous to safeguard his rights,

Is the petitioner most deserving of not being denied.
